On the one hand, capital has fueled the rapid ascent of AI, enabling companies like OpenAI to raise billions and expand at unprecedented scale. On the other hand, the very promise of AGI—Artificial General Intelligence—is so disruptive that it could render the foundations of capitalism meaningless. If machines truly surpass humans in all intellectual labor, what then becomes of value, exchange, and return on investment?

The Limits of the AGI Narrative
